How to connect Wifi at misawa ab library

This is the way to connect to wifi in misawa AB. I could connect to wifi from my phone or ipad without having any problems (just choose 'LIBRARY' and put a password 'library123456'. somehow, the system on the computer kept saying that I need to know the ID.  the library desk gave me a book that I can use to access the library. the library has fantastic broadband and connection compare to the internet we're paying for.  I wonder what makes the differences between those internet.

Misawa Tanabata Festival _ 2013

Tanabata (七夕?, meaning "Evening of the seventh") is a Japanese star festival, originating from the Chinese Qixi Festival.[1] It celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega and Altair respectively). According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar. The date of Tanabata varies by region of the country, but the first festivities begin on July 7 of the Gregorian calendar. The celebration is held at various days between July and August.

check for more info about Tanabata at HERE

It has a story about this day in korea, The day is called as'chil suk' which means 7th of July. There's a couple in somewhere in sky. their name is 'gyungwoo' and 'jikyeo'. They are in love with each other and want to meet but somehow they can't. there's only a day allowed for them to meet. that's 7th of July. the crows make a bridge for them to step on so they can meet in the middle point. It always rains on that day because they cry for happiness after they meet each other. People consider the rain early in the morning as cry for another separation for a year.

So this is a picture that I found from Japan Guide webside,

It rained so much in misawa for 3 days while it had festival. Though there were not very many people walking around the town, It was fun to have something to do in misawa on weekends. My husband and I went down to the main gate area and checked what they have around here.

bones stuck on sausages

kimchi something

chocolate on bananas

super fried sweet potatoes

one way street to max value, they covered top part due to heavy rain

Dehumidifier - must have in misawa

You must heard of how humid it is in Misawa. Before I come here, I lived in Las Vegas where there was not much humidity but just straight hot and very dried.  Lots of people warn me about misawa summer, and they said it gets really hot and it is intolerable. Summer in misawa sometimes like winter in las vegas. It pretty much rains everyday non-stop all day long. because of the location where misawa is, there's sea shore right next to the city and a lake all around the base, It gets really humid in summer time. It is hot not because of the sunshine or something, but because of the humidity - about 80% to 90%. Dehumidifiers really help reduce the unpleasant feeling from sticky weather, the picture is showing there's only one dehumidifier left on the shelves at BX. The narrowest selection of home appliance we have here in misawa, I recommend you to buy one in the states that meets your expectation and bring it to misawa when you pcsing. It will help a lot all year around. this humidity is the thing that you might never felt before unless you have been to amazon one time.

A chocolate cake in misawa

After I read a post about bakery in misawa,

My husband and I headed to the bakery on Sunday afternoon. As I heard a lot about baking skill especially how the desert is good in Japan, I was excited to try this great cake at misawa. This bakery is located right across from Universe (the popular grocery store), We parked our car at the parking lot at university and cross the street. the sign displayed outside the store was very small and it is the french word (i think it is?) with wiggly writing, I couldn't see the store at first. This place is the only shop right across the street from Universe so you never miss here.

We bought chocolate cake which costs about $20-$30, the size was very small and frosting was definitely different tastes than the U.S one. It was different than the Korean one either. It was a lot sweeter and something different taste wasn't really satisfied me. I enjoyed fruits though.

At the bakery, they pretty much only sells cakes, I heard there's really good donuts store in misawa (not the Mr.donuts at shimoda mall), If you know the place, please let me know. I will be appreciate the information.

I added some more pics.

Movie experience in misawa AB

You can find the movie schedule at here.

There are two movies playing regularly at misawa AB theater everyday (3pm and 6 pm or somewhere around that time). It helps that we can still watch popular movies in Japan with a inexpensive price. I have never been to Japaneses Theater yet, I heard It is pretty expensive and people don't make any sounds at the theater. that makes me little nervous about going to local movie theater. anyways, we headed to movie theater on base for 'pacific rim 3D'. this place is located next to the post office. It really doesn't say it's a movie theater, the sign said some kind of training place, but there's a LED display outside of the building and you can see the movie schedule  passing. Pacifit Rim 3D was great. I would love to see more 3D movies here. it's pretty exciting.

Kids table at shimodamall

I saw this Japaneses Family at shimoda mall. The table is especially made for kids but whole family decided to be seated on it. I thought that's pretty cute.

Snakes sake at shoppette

Can't believe shoppette sells this sake! Snake sake is known for boosting guys love making skills and strengthen the power. That's what korean people say about snake sake, same logic is applied to ginseng sake (usually they make it with soju in korea). There's no scientific evidence based on this though.

Donkasu(fried pork cutlets) -Tonki

This amazing pork cutlet place is near the main gate. I ordered pork Cutlets ($12), the meat was still very moist after being deep fried. there was no sauce for this but wasabi was provided. scoop few spoons of wasabi and deep the sauce slightly, It was actually very good. there was menu in English at the entrance of the restaurant but no English menu or pictures on the me menu at the store. It was straight Japaneses word. I understood the factor that the place is owned by grand father and grand mother, you can use English menu on the entrance if you need.

fried chicken cutlet($9) is provided with sauce. - just not the pork one.

Direction
1. off from the main gate. - limited parking space and you need to make all the way around since the place is at the one way road, it's better leave your vehicle at the visitor center right off from the base and walk)
2. make a right turn at the american park (where that sky plaza is at)
3. keep go straight and then cross the street at the convenience store or somewhere near there
4. make a left turn between 'Workaholic' and 'lightening key store'
5. Pass cheese roll place then you can see TONKI sign

second Starbucks trip to hachinohe

this is the way how to get to the one and only Starbucks near misawa ab.

1. take the highway to hachinohe (200yen for getting into the toll road, and pay 150 yen more when you get to hachinohe.
2. exit at hachinohe kita IC and make a right turn at the end of the road
3. keep take on route 45 and keep go straight.
4. when there's a only left or right turn (the road facing SEGA world), you make a right turn.
5. keep go straight and take middle lane when there're 3 lane and keep go straight.
you will see central pachinko on the right side then you make a right turn at first big road (before yellow signed restaurant)
6. keep go straight until you see the bridge and make left turn there.

(make a left turn before the bridge)

7. you will see public hospital (big hotel looking old hospital) and you will see Starbucks on your left

this is the best way I found how to get there.
I haven't taken non toll road. 700 yen for toll road seems not too much for how much time i can save and the traffic i can skip. let me know if you know the different way.

It was pretty hard to find this place at first. we needed to use our phone navigation to get here. this Starbucks is located right next to the public hospital in hachinohe. the price was reasonable and coffee was pretty good. I was so happy to find Starbucks near misawa.
